Hello! I am Karyna Landrón, and I will be this year's Spanish Dual Language teacher for first grade. This will be my 7th year in LISD and my 9th year as a teacher overall. I began my teaching career in Puerto Rico—where I was born and raised—as an English teacher for two years. Since joining LISD, I have taught kindergarten, first grade, and fifth grade. I earned both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Puerto Rico. As a teacher, my goal is to create a positive and inclusive environment where students feel safe, valued, and excited to learn and grow in Spanish. In my free time, I enjoy watching TV shows, trying out new cooking and baking recipes, and cuddling with my sweet dog, Gigi. I'm looking forward to a fantastic school year!

¡Hola! Soy Karyna Landrón y seré la maestra de español del programa de Doble Lenguaje en primer grado este año. Este será mi séptimo año en LISD y mi noveno año como maestra. Comencé mi carrera como educadora en Puerto Rico—donde nací y crecí—como maestra de inglés durante dos años. Desde que me uní a LISD, he enseñado kindergarten, primer grado y quinto grado. Obtuve mi bachillerato y maestría en la Universidad de Puerto Rico. Como maestra, mi meta es crear un ambiente positivo e inclusivo donde los estudiantes se sientan seguros, valorados y motivados a aprender y crecer en español. En mi tiempo libre, me gusta ver series, probar nuevas recetas de cocina y repostería, y acurrucarme con mi perrita Gigi. ¡Estoy muy emocionada por este nuevo año escolar!
