ASVAB-CEP
-
The ASVAB Career Exploration Program (CEP) is a free assessment that helps students in grades 10 and up explore career options. The program uses the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) to help students learn about their skills and interests, discover their work-related values, and explore career pathways. The CEP also includes an interest assessment and career planning tools to help students make informed decisions about their future.
The ASVAB or the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery is a standardized test that helps determine if a young adult is qualified to join the military and is a good fit for certain careers. ASVAB scores are used primarily to determine enlistment eligibility, assign applicants to military jobs, and aid students in career exploration.
The ASVAB subtests are designed to measure aptitudes in four domains: Verbal, Math, Science and Technical, and Spatial. Students’ scores from the ASVAB are valid up to 2 years from the date of testing if a student chooses to forward them to a military recruiter.
To take the ASVAB-CEP, students should talk to their counselor or visit ASVAB-CEP.
