Welcome to B.B. Owen… Home of the Bobcats!

B. Owen is a special place that has a family atmosphere and is full of tradition!  Our smaller school environment is the perfect place for your child to learn and grow academically.  We focus on providing students a safe, nurturing environment where they are able to take risks in their learning.  In addition, our teachers provide engaging and challenging learning opportunities to help students reach their full potential.  Throughout the year, our BB Owen Bobcats are able to participate in a variety of experiences in and out of the classroom to develop into a well-rounded student. 

While academics are important, we feel like social and emotional growth is a vital part of the educational process.  Restorative practices are embraced at BB Owen to provide your child with real world skills they can use for life.  We believe that partnering with our parents and our community gives our students the support needed to have thriving, productive lives in a future they create.   

On a personal note, I am blessed to have spent my entire career in LISD.    After graduating the University of North Texas, I started my teaching career at Heritage Elementary and then later moved on to Valley Ridge Elementary.  I have taught grades 3, 4, and 5 during my 20 years in the classroom setting.  I received my master’s degree in Educational Leadership from The University of Texas at Arlington.  It was then that I moved on to become the Assistant Principal at Ethridge Elementary where I served as AP for 7 years.  

My husband, Kevin, and I have 2 daughters. Both of my daughters are graduates of Lewisville High School.   Hannah is my oldest who graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University and now is a nurse at UT Southwestern.  Allie is my youngest daughter.  She attends the University of Texas at the Permian Basin and is majoring in secondary education.  She one day hopes to teach and coach softball.
