Recommended Prerequisite: Principles of Arts, A/V Tech and Com, Journalism, Theater, Photography, Writing, Art, Graphics or Animation Class
This course offers comprehensive training for students in a state-of-the-art professional television studio, covering all roles from on-camera talent to behind-the-scenes operations. Participants will gain hands-on experience with professional-grade studio equipment and develop essential skills in camera operation, video editing, and graphic design. The curriculum also includes an introduction to journalism, emphasizing how to conduct interviews that are both visually and audibly professional. As part of the course, students will contribute to the production of the LISD sportscast, "Overtime," available on YouTube. Additionally, students will have opportunities outside of class to participate in live sports broadcasts within LISD, providing valuable, real-world experience in professional-level live broadcasting. There are no required courses students should take prior to enrolling in Live Audio/Video Production. However, introduction at the 8th grade level in AAVTC is a great starting point. Courses in multimedia, theater, and journalism can also be useful.
